As we know from release, Mortal Kombat 11 was set to have 6 DLC characters. We have 4 of those characters confirmed with one even having a showcase in the Shang Tsung trailer. Now we’re only left to speculate the last two guest characters based on how violent they can be and what Ed Boon hints.
His most recent teaser was in a Tweet here:
We’d be “happy” to… https://t.co/iapNuh1FZQ
— Ed Boon (@noobde) June 9, 2019
Now it goes to say that he didn’t come up with this crossover. Rather he retweeted and shared the idea that a fan had of Nick Sax from the sci-fy comedy “Happy”. This tweet was most probably just a bit of banter with his fans and nothing more.
A fan favorite theory that gained a good bit of traction was the one of Ash Williams from Evil Dead being a part of the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters.
We haven’t had any news on MK 11 DLC since the Shang Tsung reveal trailer and Ed Boon’s merciless teasing.
NetherRealm Studios did bring in a Mortal Kombat 11 update a few days ago which acted more as a patch of sorts. There was no information about the prospect of a new Mortal Kombat 11 DLC announcement within it.
We’re also not sure if the next Mortal Kombat 11 DLC announcement will be of one of the unknown characters or a showcase about the DLC we already know. I say this because while we’ve seen Shang Tsung, his trailer also confirmed the imminent appearance of Nightwolf, Sindel, and Spawn. We haven’t seen what they look like though so the next announcement may as well just be a showcase of either of them.
Personally, I’m hoping to see an appearance from the Doom Slayer since the hype behind him is very intense right now following the Doom Eternal trailer we were shown at E3. NetherRealm Studios has yet to officially confirm anything.
