Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Leaked Ahead of SE’s E3 Media Briefing? [Update]

Update: Confirmed! Trailers attached below!

If a recent leak is to be believed, we may very well see a Final Fantasy VIII Remastered reveal at Square Enix’s media briefing at E3 2019. However, do note that FFVIII Remastered is expected to be different from the reworked version on PC.

Unlike other installments in the series, the game has so far evaded being on the modern-day platforms. Now it seems like SE is trying to bring a remastered version of the game to PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and even mobile devices. In case you didn’t know, the reason why SE took its time when it comes to remastering the title is that the publisher lost the game’s original source code from the PS1 era.

Anyhow, the leak in question comes from a Twitter user named Sabi who so far has been fairly accurate about different things related to E3 2019. It’s also to be noted that Final Fantasy VIII is getting a remastered version, unlike Final Fantasy VII Remake. It’s most likely going to be high-resolution textures, support for high resolution, improved FPS, and more.

Apart from FFVIII Remastered Edition, the leaker has also hinted on The Last Remnant Remastered, Secret of Mana collection being localized for the western audience, Romancing SaGa 3, and SaGa: Scarlet Grace Ambitions.

Do note that it’s not confirmed whether the leaked games will get confirmed on SE’s media briefing or via Twitter/YouTube later down the road. We’ll see whether any of the leaks come out to be true or not. As for FFVII Remake, it’s confirmed to release on Mar. 03, 2020 on PS4.
