Bethesda’s New IPs are Called Ghostwire Tokyo and Deathloop [Update]

Update #2

Bethesda has also confirmed Deathloop at E3 2019. Deathloop is an action adventure game developed by Arkane Studios.

Arkane describes the upcoming game as innovative, stylish and something that the studio has never created before. In short, the game is “really cool” according to the developers. The upcoming game features two top-tier assassins named Colt and Juliana and takes place in a “time of madness”.

Interested folks can check out the official description of Deathloop below.

“DEATHLOOP” transports players to the lawless island of Blackreef in an eternal struggle between two extraordinary assassins. Explore stunning environments and meticulously designed levels in an immersive gameplay experience that lets you approach every situation any way you like. Hunt down targets all over the island in an effort to put an end to the cycle once and for all, and remember, if at first you don’t succeed… die, die again.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t any mention of Deathloop release date or release platforms. However, we can expect the game to arrive sometime next year for Sony’s PlayStation 4, Microsoft’s Xbox One and PC.

Update #1 During Bethesda’s E3 2019 press conference, Tango Gameworks’ GamShinji Mikami and Creative Director Ikumi Nakamura took the stage to officially announce Ghostwire Tokyo.

The upcoming game is not a horror title like Tango Gameworks’ previous games. During the reveal, Shinji Mikami described Ghostwire as a spooky action-adventure game in which the players will encounter paranormal threats.

As seen in the trailer below, players will take on the role of an archer to take down enemies in the game meanwhile figuring out what’s happening in the Tokyo City. The trailer shows that people are disappearing in Tokyo city at an alarming rate.

During the game, players will encounter spirits and according to Nakamura some of these spirits will be peaceful and some will be quite dangerous.

Interested folks can check out the official game description and trailer below.

After strange disappearances hit Tokyo’s population, it’s up to you to uncover the source and purge the city of a strange, new evil. Armed with your own mysterious spectral abilities, you will face down the occult, unravel conspiracy theories and experience urban legends like never before. Don’t fear the unknown. Attack it.

There’s no release date or release platforms available yet for Ghostwire.

Original Story
According to a known leaker, two new games by Bethesda will be announced at E3 2019 in just a few minutes. As mentioned in the leak, the upcoming two new IPs are called Ghostwire Tokyo and Deathloop. Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t detail anything else about these unconfirmed Bethesda IPs.

Interestingly, the Deadloop trademark is already registered by ZeniMax (Bethesda Softwork’s parent company), which makes us somewhat believe that the leak is true. However, we can do nothing but speculate at the moment until Bethesda talks about it at 2019 Electronic Entertainment Expo.

As for now, we can speculate that Deadloop and Ghostwire Tokyo are going to be games from Arkane Studios or Tango Gameworks. Tango Gameworks chief Shinji Mikmi has already mentioned that he’s coming to E3 this year, maybe to talk about one of the above-unannounced games. If that happens, we will not likely see Evil Within 3 this year.

Apart from new IPs, leaker also says that DOOM Eternal’s multiplayer will be shown during the press conference. DOOM Eternal’s multiplayer will allow the players to play as a demon slayer or as a demo from hell.

To find out if the leak is true or not, tune into Bethesda’s E3 2019 presentation which starts at 5:30 pm PT. We can expect both of these games to release sometime next year for Xbox One, PC, Xbox Scarlett, and PS4.
