Google has finally unveiled its Stadia launch date and pricing including details about Google Stadia Founders Edition. This new information about Google’s video game streaming service was shared during the recent Google Stadia Connect event.
During Google Stadia Connect event, Google announced that the Stadia will first launch in November as a part of Stadia Founders Edition. Stadia Founders Edition is for those who want to try out the service this year. Everyone else will have to wait until 2020 to get their hands on Google Stadia service. In case you don’t know already, Google Stadia will allow everyone to play games directly over WiFi from TV’s, Chromcast browser and Google Pixel Phones. Players will not have to download anything as the games will exist on Google servers.
As for Google Stadia Founders Edition, it’s available for pre-order and will cost you $130. Stadia Founders Edition comes with a limited-edition controller, Chromecast Ultra, three-month subscription to the Stadia Pro service, three-month buddy pass and a Founder’s Stadia Name. Founder’s Edition will ship in November 2019.
Stadia Base will launch in 2020. The base version of the service will be available for anyone with a controller or compatible device including Google Chrome browser or a Pixel 3 or 3a phone. Players will have to buy games separately and save these games in their library forever. Base Stadia users will be able to play games at 1080p/60fps with stereo sound.
On the other hand, there’s Stadia Pro which is included in Google Stadia Founders Edition. For Stadia Pro, players will have to pay $10 per month to get access to the following items.
- Streaming resolution up to 4K with 60 FPS and HDR in 5.1 surround sound
- Access to additional free games released regularly
- Discounts on purchasing full games
- At launch, players will get access to Destiny 2 base game including all add-ons, Shadowkeep expansion, and the annual pass

In terms of online connection requirements, Google recommends users to have at least 10 Megabit upload speed to play games at 720 with 60 frames per second. To run games at stable 4K and 60 frames per second, users will need a stable 35 Megabit speed connection.
