Call of Duty Modern Warfare Says Goodbye to one of the Longest Running Modes

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Reboot is dropping one of the most popular game modes, zombies. Modern Warfare will not have a zombies mode due to its realistic approach to combat gameplay in both single and multiplayer modes. While we would have loved to see Captain Price taking on hordes of zombies, the decision is understandable.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 is a reboot of the original series. Modern Warfare series began back in 2007 with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The soft reboot features boots on the grounds combat, realistic storytelling, emotional moments, and emotional scenes. It is the Call of Duty we all remembered and loved before everything became goofy. According to Infinity Ward, Call of Duty Modern Warfare Reboot story is “serious business.”

Going back to realism is the main reason why zombies mode will not be included in Modern Warfare reboot. Zombies mode has been a staple of Call of Duty games since Black Ops 1. Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Black Ops 3, Ghosts, Infinite Warfare, World War 2, and Black Ops 4 all featured zombies modes. This will be the first time in over half a decade that a Call of Duty game won’t come with a zombies mode.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25, 2019. According to Infinity Ward, Call of Duty Modern Warfare reboot won’t feature paid DLC and comes with cross-platform play.

While there is no paid DLC, there are special editions available for those who want something more from their Call of Duty experience.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Precision Edition

The Precision Edition of Call of Duty Modern Warfare is $99.99 and comes with the following items. The Precision Edition is exclusive to GameStop.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Dark Edition

Dark Edition is exclusive to GameStop, however, the website has no information about it. The Dark Edition of Call of Duty Modern Warfare is $199.99 so we can expect some amazing items to be included in the package. Maybe a Captain Price statue? We’ll have to wait and see. Call of Duty Modern Warfare Dark Edition isn’t the first COD special edition going exclusive to GameStop. Previous Call of Duty, as well as other games, have done the same.

However, due to the decline of GameStop and its physical sales, the retailer may not get exclusive special editions for long. Anyways, apart from the Dark and Precision Edition, we have a few digital editions as well.

The Digital Standard Edition — The $60 edition comes with the base game and a bunch of pre-order bonuses including a Tactical Knife in-game item and a Prestige Token for Black Ops 4.

The Operator Edition — The $80 digital edition comes with aforementioned items as well as Operator Pack, Crew Expendable Operator Pack, and War Pig Operator Pack, and Black Ops 4 Prestige Token.

The Operator Enhanced Edition — All of the above-mentioned content and 3,000 Call of Duty Points.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare reboot will be free of microtransactions and loot boxes. There is no season pass but PlayStation has timed exclusivity to all additional content such as maps, weapons, skins, and more.

Modern Warfare 2019 has a new voice actor for Captain Price. However, the in-game team is teased to be the same which means Soap and Ghost may return.
