Call of Duty Modern Warfare is leaked via the official YouTube channel. The channel scheduled a video to go live later today but somehow it popped up early. It didn’t play for the users but its thumbnail preview gave away the title. Yes, as rumored, this year’s Call of Duty is Modern Warfare.
Infinity Ward isn’t releasing a numbered entry and rumor has it that Modern Warfare is a soft reboot of the series. Call of Duty Modern Warfare trailer thumbnail not only confirmed the title but also strongly hinted at the rumored stealth mechanics. Recent insider reports mentioned that Call of Duty Modern Warfare will feature extensive stealth mechanics. The rumor and reports started after Activision’s “Going Dark” marketing campaign.

The reveal trailer of Call of Duty Modern Warfare is dropping on May 30 at 10 AM PT. The trailer posted accidentally on the official channel has since been removed. Not to worry, we will be seeing it later today.
Some of the other elements we saw in Call of Duty Modern Warfare trailer thumbnail leak includes a few soldiers performing a Halo jump, and one soldier running up a car in an urban environment.
While more will be revealed later today, new reports just came in regarding DLC and microtransactions. Activision is notorious when it comes to microtransactions and aggressive DLC models.
The company has been criticized for adding loot boxes to the previous Call of Duty games. However, it seems Activision is taking a different route this year.
The game has no paid DLC or DLC exclusivity with PlayStation and Microsoft. All Modern Warfare DLC will release on all platforms simultaneously.
With that said, the upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare trailer will most likely reveal expensive special editions of the game. It would be interesting to see exactly what Infinity Ward will offer if there is no paid DLC for Call of Duty Modern Warfare.
Ubisoft did something similar with The Division 2. There is no paid DLC but buying the season pass gives players 7-days early access to all DLC content. Can we expect this from Call of Duty 2019? We will have to wait and see.
Another thing to note here is that Activision and Sony had an exclusive DLC partnership for the past three years. If there is no DLC exclusivity does that mean the partnership has run its course? Again, we’ll have to wait until later today to find out more.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare is releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 3. Activision is attending E3 2019 we can expect the game to be playable at the event. If the Sony deal is no longer in effect and we know Sony is skipping E3 2019, we may see the multiplayer reveal trailer at Microsoft’s press event instead.
