From Software Great Rune Project Confirmed by a Two Year Old Subreddit?

According to the latest discovery, there’s a subreddit for From Software’s “Great Rune,” which was created about two years ago. This information seemingly confirms the rumors of From Software’s upcoming game. However, the provided information should be treated as a rumor for now since there’s no official confirmation yet by the developer.

Interestingly, the game’s subreddit became active two days ago. The first post reveals that the subreddit is dedicated towards the rumored From Software game called “Great Rune.” However, this subreddit doesn’t confirm that the game really exists.

The Great Rune subreddit was created nearly two years ago on July 3, 2017. This information was revealed in the subreddit’s first post by the sole moderator “e_0”. Afterward, GameRant verified that this subreddit is indeed two years old, confirming that the Great Rune subreddit was created way before the rumors of Project Rune started to come in. It’s possible that this was a random Reddit created by someone, who’s now just taking advantage of the name and having fun by trolling people.

The sole moderator of the subreddit also claims that he has past experience of working as a moderator for Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, and Bloodborne subreddits. If that’s true, it’s possible that the sole moderator has some inside information about From Software’s upcoming title. As we said before, this doesn’t confirm anything about the game.

We do know that FromSoftware is working on two new games so Project Rune could be one of them. As we reported before, it’s rumored that Game of Thrones’ George RR Martin and the author of “A Song of Ice and Fire” is working on a Japanese videogame with FromSoftware. In a recent George RR Martin Blog, Martin confirmed that he “consulted on a video game out of Japan.” Since then, there have been various leaks and rumors about the game.

According to a rumor, Great Rune game is not a fully open world game. This information comes from Antonio Fucito, an Italian Journalist. The game is not a fully open world game due to the limitations of the engine being used by FromSoftware. This way, we can expect the upcoming game to be somewhat similar to Dark Souls games.

As for the title, Antonio Fucito says that Great Rune may just be a codename of FromSoftware’s next project, meaning that the game’s final name has yet to be decided.

FromSoftware is rumored to announce this new game at E3 2019 event, which starts on June 9. Project Rune is expected to arrive on Sony’s PlayStation 4, Microsoft’s Xbox One and PC before the launch of next-gen consoles.
