Dispute Over Elder Scrolls 6 Redfall Trademark Has Been Resolved

Book publisher BookBreeze and ZeniMax Media Inc. have now resolved their dispute over the ‘Redfall’ trademark, which is rumored to be the title of The Elder Scrolls 6.

As we reported before, ZeniMax (parent company of Bethesda) faced a dispute over Redfall trademark back in February from the author “Jay Falconer” of apocalyptic book series called Redfall.

This dispute was led by Falconer’s publisher BookBreeze and worried a lot of Elder Scrolls series fans about the confusion it will cause since it’s known as the potential title for Elder Scrolls 6.

Luckily after a lot of discussions and updates from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the trademark dispute is finally over. As reported by Gamasutra,  ZeniMax and BookBreeze have finally reached an agreement.

ZeniMax Media Inc. and Bookbreeze.com are pleased to announce that they have amicably resolved a pending trademark dispute related to the Redfall trademark. While the specific terms of the agreement are confidential, the parties believe that resolution of the matter is mutually beneficial to both ZeniMax and Bookbreeze.com and their respective fans.

With that said, all that’s left for us to do is to wait and see if Redfall gets officially announced as the title of The Elder Scrolls 6 or not. Whether it’s the title for next Elder Scrolls or not, it’s safe to say that Bethesda is working on a project linked to Redfall.

Unfortunately, we will not hear about the upcoming game anytime soon. Bethesda Softworks has confirmed that the next entry in The Elder Scrolls franchise will not be discussed at E3 2019. Further, Bethesda’s Pete Hines previously said that we will not hear about the game anytime soon as “it will take a while from now and a really long while from now”.

The Elder Scrolls VI was announced with a teaser trailer at E3 last year. Since then there’s very little that we have heard about the game. According to the latest news, Bethesda is apparently hiring a voice designer for The Elder Scrolls VI.

The game is in the early development phase and will most likely release on next-gen consoles like Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Scarlett.

It’s confirmed that the game will arrive after Starfield, which is another title in development by Bethesda. With that said, it’s expected that The Elder Scrolls VI release date will atleast after 2020.
