No Traditional Space for Activision At E3 2019, What About Next Call of Duty?

E3 2019 is just a few weeks away and multiple developers are set to showcase the games they have been working on. Fans have been waiting to see Activision showcase the new Call of Duty but after Activision’s name nowhere to be seen on E3 2019’s schedule, the company has now confirmed that it will not have a booth at E3 2019. However, Activision will still participate in the event.

A lot of people were looking forward to Activision’s press conference, especially considering all the rumors of a new Call of Duty game being unveiled soon. An Activision representative spoke with GameIndustry.biz and clarified the company’s decision by saying,

“While we won’t have a traditional space on the show floor, we look forward to participating at E3 across a number of activities.”

Although this may come as a surprise to many but Activision has done this in the past. The company also didn’t hold a booth back in 2016 close to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s launch. So even though Activision won’t be holding the traditional booth at E3 2019, fans can still look forward to other activities such as press talks and meetings.

Sony confirmed that it won’t be making an appearance at this year’s E3. EA has also confirmed that it will not be holding a traditional press conference but instead will holding its own “EA Play” live stream. This may or may not be another reason why Activision is opting not to hold the booth.

It has already been confirmed that the new Call of Duty game will be shown at E3 2019 so it is likely that has something to do with Activision’s decision.

It is also worth noting that the number of games Activision has in its roaster has decreased. With games like Destiny now under control of Bungie, it seems the only the major announcement that can be expected from Activision at E3 2019 are Call of Duty and the upcoming launch of Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled.
