Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 Will Return to Epic Games Store After the Sale is Over

Yesterday, Paradox Interactive pulled Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 from Epic Games Store. The sudden removal was due to the start of Epic Games Store sale (Epic Mega Sale) which lasts till June 13 and offers a 10$ discount on every game priced above $14.99. However, the developer has now confirmed that the game will return to Epic Games Store soon.

The 10$ discount also applies for pre-orders of upcoming games but Bloodlines 2 wasn’t supposed to be included in those pre-order deals, which is why it was removed shortly. This comes as a surprise because Epic Games has confirmed that they fully compensate the discount to the publisher and developers will not lose any money.

To address the confusion, PCGamesN reached out to Epic for clarification on the matter. Epic confirmed that Paradox decided to opt out of the sale.

“If a developer or publisher chooses to not participate in our sales, we will honor that decision,” an Epic Games spokesperson told the site. “Paradox Interactive has chosen to not participate in the Epic Mega Sale and the game has been temporarily removed from sale. If players purchased Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 during the period when the discount did apply at the time of check out, Epic will honor that price.”

Moreover, Jesse Henning, public relations manager at Paradox Interactive stepped in to say that they are currently discussing the matter with Epic Store and confirmed that the game will return soon.

We are in discussion with Epic regarding the temporary removal of Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 from the Epic Game Store. The game will return to the store soon! Any purchases made while the game was discounted during the Epic Mega Sale will be honored and no Masquerade violations will be assessed.

The overall situation is not looking good for Epic Mega sale as another game called Oxygen is also not available just like Bloodlines 2. Publisher and developer of the game Klei Entertainment have yet to comment on the matter.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2’s removal from Epic Games Store could be also due to the fact that it’s also available for pre-order on Steam and GOG but at a full price. The dates for Steam summer sale have also leaked but don’t expect any discount on Bloodlines 2.

There’s no release date yet for Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 but Hardsuit Labs is aiming for a 2020 launch. Bloodline 2 is a direct sequel to 2004’s Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines 1. The game will arrive on PC, Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One.
