A Super Mario Maker 2 Nintendo Direct has been confirmed for tomorrow, May 15. The Direct will be happening at 3 P.M. Pacific Time, or 6 P.M. Eastern Time in America. If you’re not in the United States and want to watch it, you should find out what time that is for you.
Super Mario Maker 2 will be the new-and-improved sequel to the original Super Mario Maker game, which allowed fans of Mario to make their own Mario levels in an officially licensed Nintendo game, while also making them as easy or difficult as they liked.
This led to a huge amount of very creative levels being made via user-made content, which could also be made in any Mario style ranging from the original Game Boy Color or SNES games, to the most recent Super Mario games.
The Super Mario Maker 2 Nintendo Direct will be giving us a lot more information that we don’t already know about, which may include new art styles (since Super Mario Odyssey released since the last game), new obstacles, and new ways to build courses.
However, if you were hoping for any other news besides information about Mario, like the Nintendo Direct back in February that explained a great deal of Fire Emblem: Three House’s mechanics, but also announced a number of other games like Astral Chain and a remake of Link’s Awakening, you’ll be out of luck.
The Direct is only supposed to last fifteen minutes, and be solely about Super Mario Maker 2. While that’s a really short amount of time, even for Nintendo Directs (which very rarely last over an hour), it’ll hopefully be enough to get in a lot of tantalizing new information that will get people more excited.
Hopefully, the Nintendo Direct will have enough new stuff about Super Mario Maker 2 to get people even more excited about it than the first. Super Mario Maker 2 will be coming out on June 28, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
