Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is a couple of days away from launch. Developer Rebellion Developments has rolled out a trailer for the upcoming remaster and doesn’t reveal much of improvement. That is why we are doing a Sniper Elite V2 Remastered graphics comparison.
You can see the graphics comparison for Sniper Elite V2 Remastered in the video below, courtesy of PC Gaming Videos. The comparison reveals that the game didn’t get the improvement expected from a remaster.
For some reason, the terrain seems to have more debris in the original version compared to the remastered version despite having slightly high resolution. The texture quality has been improved in the remaster but the improvement is noticeable if you are nitpicking.
It’s quite evident from the graphics comparison that Sniper Elite V2 Remastered has slightly improved texture quality, shadows, and lighting quality.
Overall both versions look roughly the same indicating that not much effort was put into the remaster. Character models look the same and the terrain in the original looks to be more detailed.
This isn’t the only Sniper Elite game coming as the studio has also confirmed that Sniper Elite 5 is in development. Not only that, Rebellion Development also confirmed several other titles associated with Sniper Elite IP.
These titles include Sniper Elite 3 for Nintendo Switch and an unannounced Sniper Elite title. However, that studio is yet to confirm the release date for the upcoming Sniper Elite 5.
All of Sniper Elite games have their signature X-ray cams and it makes me wonder if the unannounced Sniper Elite VR title will include this feature or not. Watching soldiers’ testicles explode in VR will add another layer of immersion to the Sniper Elite franchise.
Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is a stealth shooter developed and published by Rebellion Developments for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
