As spotted by the fans, Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version listing has been found on more places. Both of these mentions also indicate that the PC version of the game has been in development for some time now. Since there’s no official confirmation yet by Rockstar Games, it should be treated as a rumor for now.
The first leak comes from the LinkedIn profile of a former Rockstar Leeds programmer, who worked for Rockstar Games until 2016. The developer claims that he worked on Red Dead Redemption 2 for Microsoft’s Xbox One, Sony’s PlayStation 4, and PC.
Another account that listed the game is of a former Rockstar Toronto employee, Na Ma, who also claims that he worked on RDR 2 PC. Na Ma’s profile also lists other hit titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Max Payne 3. Now, Na Ma is the CEO of a VR studio called Future Immersive. These mentions of Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version were removed shortly from the profiles of these aforementioned developers.
Fans of Red Dead Redemption series are taking this as a hint that the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 does exist. That does make sense because RDR 2 was only confirmed to release on Xbox One and PS4.
We believe that Red Dead Redemption 2 will eventually come to PC like GTA V but there has not yet been an official announcement by Take-Two or Rockstar Games. This is why we have to rely on Red Dead Redemption 2 PC leaks and clues for the time being.
This is not the first time a developer’s resume has hinted towards RDR 2 PC. A year ago, RDR 2 listing was found in the resume of another Rockstar Leeds member.
If the rumors are to be believed, we can expect Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC to be announced at E3 2019. It’s a possibility as the game’s publisher Take-Two has previously said that PC is a very important platform for the company.
However, the publisher didn’t confirm that the game will ever release on PC or not. To find out, we can do nothing but wait.
