Ghost Recon Breakpoint Gameplay, Open World, and All New Features

Bivouacs — Those who joined the Scouts as teenagers would be familiar with what a Bivouacs is. It is an improvised shelter system used by soldiers and mountaineers. It is pretty simple to create if you know what you are doing. It consists of a frame covered with leaves or a tarpaulin. You may have seen Bear Grylls making one of these on his show, Man vs Wild.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint players will be able to create Bivouacs during their unwelcomed stay at the Island of Auroa. You will use this resting place to take breaks from combat, heal your character, and adjust your character class and gear.

A major portion gameplay design revolves around these make-shift camps.

Injuries — If you end up taking a lot of damage in Ghost Recon Breakpoint, you will end up with an injury that would affect your aim, walking, and other bodily functions. Injuries in Breakpoint come in varying degree of severity.

Your Ghost may end up crawling his way back to the camp if hit with a severe gunshot wound. In other situations, a shot to the arm may only slow his movement a bit and affect aim.

Ghost Recon’s combat isn’t the only thing that can cause injury to Ghosts. You can contract injuries during traversal of the harsh landscape of the island.

Fall damage is confirmed by Ubisoft but there might be other ways you can end up with injuries. The player will be able to deal with injuries with bandages, syringes, and/or heading back to the bivouac.

To make matters more interesting and realistic, Ubisoft has added hunger, thirst, combat stress, and fatigue so life on the island will be hell for our Ghosts. This also indicates that a large portion of our time will be spent scavenging for resources.

New Enemy Types — Breakpoint will deal with major complaint players had with Wildlands, lack of enemy archetypes. Ubisoft Paris is introducing new enemy archetypes in the latest entry into the Ghost Recon series.

There heavy enemies with mini-guns, rogue Ghost agents known as Wolves, and more. Wolves are more agile, react and move faster on the battlefield.

They sound similar to the Hunters from The Division 2.

Stealth and Prone Camouflage — Head on approach isn’t always the best way to deal with enemies in Breakpoint. Stealth was a part of Wildlands but Ubisoft Paris developers are doubling down on this gameplay mechanic.

Sometimes you can end up being hunted down. In such a situation you can become overwhelmed or maybe you won’t be in combat shape due to an injury. You can prone and hide in the nearest muddy-patch and cover yourself in the dirt to hide.

Variety of Military Vehicles — Ghost Recon Wildlands features a number of vehicles. However, not many had armor and mounted guns. To remedy this, Ubisoft is adding more military vehicles on in Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

Loot Tiers — Following in the footsteps of The Division 2, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is adding loot tiers. Enemies drop tiered loot in the new game.

Raids — Post-release support will bring raids to Breakpoint. They will be played with a complete group of four players. Of course, you will have the option to solo it. The first raid is set in a base within an active volcano.

PvP — Ghost Recon Breakpoint PvP will be available at launch. This wasn’t the case with PvP from Wildlands.

Dialogue Options — Breakpoint will feature branching dialogue trees similar to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Players will have a range of options during mid-mission cutscenes.

Class-Based Progression — Players can switch between four different classes. Each class has its own progression and special abilities.
