Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Leak Came From Former Infinity Ward Employee

Apparently, the person responsible for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 leak came from Infinity Ward itself. A former employee by the name of Robert Bowling, used to be community manager for the company around the time of the Modern Warfare games. Now, using Twitter, he appears to have leaked that it will be the next game.

Bowling, apparently using his regular Twitter account, has launched a number of cryptic Twitter posts that all involve characters from the Modern Warfare trilogy. These games are seen as some of the quintessential Call of Duty games, and catapulted it into the spotlight of first-person shooters alongside Battlefield.

While Modern Warfare 3 helped to wrap the story of the Modern Warfare games up nicely, Infinity Ward may be attempting to go back to its roots after a string of Call of Duty games that ended up getting mediocre (or even in the case of Infinite Warfare, outright hostile) receptions.

While we don’t know for sure if the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 leak is actually legitimate, there are rumors that Activision intends to make an announcement about the next game soon, so we’ll hopefully know soon enough.

Interestingly, Bowling’s Twitter posts might have already pointed out who the game’s main villain would be, in the form of Ghost from Modern Warfare 2. Since he got shot by General Shepherd near the finale of the game and then set on fire, one has to wonder how he’s still alive.

If it does turn out to be Ghost that’s the villain for Modern Warfare 4, Call of Duty fans will likely be skeptical as to how Infinity Ward is going to make it work in the story. Either way, if the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 leak turns out to be true, hopefully Activision will be putting out a trailer in the near future.
