We’ve been speculating over leaks of Ash Williams being a Mortal Kombat 11 DLC character. Bruce Campbell, the legendary actor that portrayed him, has now confirmed that we might not be seeing the groovy character make an appearance after all.
I love that he also went out his way to make this declaration with a very fancy tweet:
Consider this my finishing move against a certain internet rumor. pic.twitter.com/6vKPZvTfQu

Now this confirmation could just be to mislead us as well. Multiple leaks from different sources have indeed affirmed Ash’s imminent appearance.
It’s not very far fetched to believe either. Mortal Kombat has been recruiting guest characters since the 2011 game. Not only that, the characters are usually picked out of the era Ash Williams is from.
I’m talking about the 80s to the 90s specifically. Notice how we’ve seen Freddy Kreuger, Jason Vorhees, Predator, Alien and Leatherface appear in the past.
Ash William in Mortal Kombat 11 would be one hell of a DLC addition due to his groovy personality. His chainsaw arm also perfectly fits with the gore aspect of the game.
Violence isn’t the only thing Ash shares with Mortal Kombat 11. He also has time traveled in the Evil Dead movies. Considering how Mortal Kombat 11 is all about time travel, it only makes sense that he should be featured in the game.
Think of his possible interactions with some of the characters as well. Such as Johnny Cage, a living pop culture reference in Mortal Kombat 11. Bruce Campbell did also hint to doing some video game voicework. That was confirmed to be for Dead by Daylight however. Still, there’s hope for Ash Williams Mortal Kombat 11 DLC.
We know Mortal Kombat 11 will be releasing multiple DLC characters, the first of which was confirmed to be Shang Tsung. Others are still leak based assumptions but they include popular characters like Spawn and Pennywise.
Mortal Kombat 11 is developed by NetherRealm Studios and is available now on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
