Anthem’s head of live services, Chad Robertson has now confirmed all the worried fans that BioWare remains fully committed to the game. In addition to this, the team is working hard to bring new content for the players and is very excited to show it.
This confirmation was indeed required as most of the players are worried about the game’s future especially since BioWare decided to delay most of the upcoming content from Anthem’s 90-day roadmap.
“We remain 100% committed to Anthem and look forward to showing players the new content we are working on, ” Roberston said. “We want to make sure we aren’t overpromising, so our updates on what’s coming in the game will be focused when we have things near completion.”
Roberston then added that there’s a big team working (across BioWare’s Austin and Edmonton studios) on improving the game and bringing new content.
Moreover, BioWare lead producer Michael Gamble stepped in to say that the studio’s commitment and support to Anthem “has not changed”, despite the incorrect speculations that you might have heard recently.
In short, BioWare will remain silent about future content until the work is almost finished to avoid further embarrassment. The team has acknowledged that they talk about things a little too early.
A lesson we have learned is we have been talking about things too early. There are so many factors that can cause us to pivot on our plans–whether it’s bugs & stability issues, player feedback, or complications with a feature that require us to take more time to deliver it. Our goal is to tell you about new content and features once the work is closer to being done.
Despite the reaffirmation by BioWare, we do know that the team is working on the development of Dragon Age 4. As we reported yesterday, there’s a rumor that three lead developers of Anthem have left to work on Dragon Age 4. True or not, Fans on Reddit are already done with EA’s Anthem as they are calling it a scam and asking for a refund.
It’ll be interesting to see how BioWare can solve all of these Anthem issues to revive it. Until then, you can play Anthem on Microsoft’s Xbox One, PC and Sony’s PlayStation 4.
