Borderlands On Nintendo Switch Is a Strong Possibility: Randy Pitchford

Gearbox Software’s Randy Pitchford says that he would love to see Borderlands series come to Nintendo Switch. This was revealed in a recent statement made by Pitchford in response to a fan who asked him about the possible arrival of any Borderlands game from the series on Switch platform.

“I would love to see that happen,” Pitchford replied. He didn’t say anything else so this should not be taken as an official announcement of the Borderlands franchise coming to Switch.

Nintendo Switch owners have made it clear that they want to play Borderlands on the go. As for the future, we are not expecting to see the latest entry arrive on Switch anytime soon. However, we can hope to see Borderlands 2 on Nintendo’s hybrid platform relatively quick since it was also released for Sony’s PlayStation Vita.

This is not the first time that Randy Pitchford has talked about the possibility of Borderlands on Switch. A while ago, Pitchford revealed that they had discussions with Nintendo about bringing Borderlands 3 on the portable platform but things didn’t go according to the plan. However, things have changed since as Borderlands 3 is now on its way and Switch has been selling like hotcakes so Pitchford might want to have this discussion with Nintendo once again for a different outcome. At the moment we can do nothing but hope that any game from Borderlands series arrives on Switch at some point.

Until that happens, we would like to remind you that tomorrow is the official reveal of Borderlands 3 gameplay. In addition to that, it appears that Gearbox Software has unintentionally leaked a small clip of the upcoming footage already according to ResetEra. This video was posted by the official account of Gearbox on Twitter and was shortly removed.

Since the leaked clip is short, we advise you to wait till tomorrow to get first look at Borderlands 3 gameplay in detail.

Borderlands 3 will release on September 13th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft’s Xbox One.
