Fans have been looking forward to Nintendo’s E3 2019 presentation for several months now. Everyone has been waiting to see what the company has in store for them. During a recent investor’s briefing, Nintendo has confirmed that it will be airing a video presentation at E3 2019 via Nintendo Direct. During this E3 2019 Direct, it is likely Nintendo will show games that are planned to release between June 2019 and March 30, 2020, for Switch.
Although this may seem news to some, Nintendo decided to take a different approach by not holding its E3 press conferences live on stage since 2013.
Doing this comes with certain advantages of course. Airing pre-recorded video demonstrations make sure that everything goes smoothly, there aren’t any mistakes. Everything happens as intended. It also allows companies like Nintendo to streamline their E3 press conferences and focus on what’s important without revealing too much about their titles.
Many fans were previously looking forward to Nintendo’s E3 2019 conference. It was rumored the company would introduce two variant consoles of the Switch. One variant was said to be a cheaper, less powerful version called the “Switch Mini” or “Switch Lite” and a more expensive but powerful variant called the “Switch Pro”. These rumors were shut down yesterday by Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa when he confirmed Nintendo has no plans to announce the Switch Mini and Pro at E3 2019.
It is likely the company will give some information regarding Nintendo Switch sales in China after the recent approval. What we know for sure is that the company will showcase some of its upcoming games, primarily for the Switch. There have been rumors regarding Persona 5 coming on Nintendo Switch for quite a while now. It is likely Nintendo will shed some light on that as well.
As for now, it seems fans will have to sit and wait till Nintendo’s E3 2019 Direct.
