It’s going to cost you a lot if you want to purchase every available fighter skin in Mortal Kombat 11? A fan on Reddit did the math recently to reveal that it would cost $6,440 (real money) to buy every skin in the game. That sounds awful but luckily that’s not the case as you can also earn them by just playing the game.
Mortal Kombat series co-creator, Ed Boon took it to Twitter to address the matter and called “$6440 story” complete bullshit. That’s because not all of the skins in the game can be purchased with real money.
Where do these people get their information? ? The VAST VAST majority of MK11 skins are NOT for sale. That’s not how NetherRealm make games. You have to EARN them IN GAME!. #FactCheckB4reporting?
It’s true since unlockable items and purchasable items in the game are completely different entities. You’ll need to use Time Krystals (Mortal Kombat 11’s real-life currency) in order to purchase in-game items.
There are a total of 23 characters in the game and each comes with 60 different skins. Four of them can be unlocked by completing the character tutorials in MK 11. The remaining can be purchased by spending Krystals or earned by grinding a lot in the game.
According to math done by the fans, it’ll take around 3390 hours of grind to unlock all of the character skins in the game which is not possible to achieve by a casual gamer.
To make things easier, NetherRealm Studios has now announced that they are going to address Kystal issues of Mortal Kombat 11 shortly with a quick fix instead of releasing a full game patch. The developer promises that they’ll continue to roll out more updates in the future to lessen the grind and balance Tower difficulty. First details about fixing the grind have already been revealed.
Mortal Kombat 11 published by Warner. Bros Interactive Entertainment is now available to play on Microsoft’s Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Sony’s PlayStation 4.
