Assassin’s Creed Unity Reverse Review Bombed Following Ubisoft’s Notre-Dame Donation

Assassin’s Creed Unity is now getting reverse review bombed on Steam following Ubisoft’s support for Notre Dame Cathedral. There are now hundreds of positive reviews on the game’s steam page following the destructive fire that took place at Notre Dame, which is also available in the game virtually.

These sudden positive reviews are the result of Ubisoft’s recent donation of €500,000 or $564,775 to help in the restoration efforts for the historical Notre Dame. Moreover, the publisher also decided to make Assassin’s Creed Unity absolutely free to download on the PC platform for a week.

You can grab it for free via Uplay or Ubisoft Store. Because of these actions, Steam users have flooded the game’s page with positive reviews about the game along with heartwarming messages to show support for Notre-Dame. There are about 850 new positive reviews of the game. You can read some of them below. The positive PR from this will also help Ubisoft to attract gamers towards the next title in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Thanks Ubisoft & Assassin’s Creed Unity for giving us an opportunity to appreciate what Notre Dame used to be.
God bless France.

Thanks Ubisoft, for the exemplary gesture of donating $500,000 for the reconstruction of the Notre-Dame Cathedral and for giving away this amazing game so anyone can be able to experience the beauty and majesty of the centuries-old historical building.

Great game, Great move buy Ubisoft to support the Notre Dame rebuild.

Up vote for Notre Dame and the cooperation. For all it’s flaws at launch it’s a really beautifully designed open world and probably the best example of what the “pure” pre-rpg Assassin’s Creed formula.

Notre-Dame rebuild efforts have brought in $1 Billion from around the world. While the real Notre-Dame is being brought back to life, you can experience its virtual presence in Unity.

Since the game is available for free, it will allow newcomers to try out AC Unity for the first time which was a huge leap in terms of graphics when it first launched and gameplay design.

It’s rumored that Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok is the next game in development by Ubisoft as hinted by an easter egg found in The Division 2. Players will experience Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok later this year, hopefully. Ragnarok is rumored to be at E3 2019.

If that happens, the fans who requested Assassin’s Creed based in Japan won’t be happening anytime soon. Maybe Assassin’s Creed game based on Viking period will happen after the Japanese game in 2019? It’s nothing but speculation at this point.

Grab Unity today if you haven’t already as the giveaway ends on Thursday, April 25.
