The Mortal Kombat 11 Launch Trailer Is A Blast From The Past, Present And Future

With only four more days to go till we get our hands on MK 11, the hype train only continues to pick-up speed. In this case, the hype has absolutely peaked after NetheRealm Studios released the Mortal Kombat 11 launch trailer.

Don’t believe me? Take a look at the MK 11 Launch trailer below and have your own personal taste of the cake NetheRealm Studios made for us.

I think the winning factor of this trailer was the astounding use of music. That classic Mortal Kombat theme in the new setting just really gets the adrenaline pumping.

The trailer heavily featured clips from the Mortal Kombat 11 story mode which NetheRealm Studios ensures is their biggest one yet.

Everything about this trailer is just pure glee-inducing for loyal MK fans. We’ve seen the dream team-up of Scorpion and Sub-Zero, as well as a clash of the Kahns which, is a comparison people have been drawing since Mortal Kombat X.

The Mortal Kombat 11 launch trailer also hints at a war that’s about to break out between Kronika and Raiden’s forces/army. The topic of the fight is the very fabric of time and reality itself, so it makes sense that the battle will be intense.

Besides showing us a gist at the premise, setting and stakes of Mortal Kombat 11, we also had a couple of bonus reveals. In case you missed it, Cyrax and Sektor have made their appearances as well.

Now whether they’re playable or not is what’s left to be confirmed. Keep in mind that Baraka and Rain had fully functioning character models and movesets in Mortal Kombat X. Despite all of that, the two aren’t actually playable in the game. Shocking, right?

One of the reasons I feel like Cyrax and Sektor may be available as playable characters is the massive day one patch that MK 11 has planned post-release. We can speculate more people to join the two, which has to do with our own personal wishlists.

My hopes are high for Mileena to show up. The Steam pre-loads for early purchases will also be starting later today. Mortal Kombat 11 releases for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch within five days.
