The Elder Scrolls: Blades Weapons Guide – Heavy, Light, Versatile

In our The Elder Scrolls: Blades Weapons Guide, we’ve detailed all the weapons in TES: Blades including Light, Heavy, and Versatile weapons.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades will see you battle many unique beasts of all sizes, in the dungeons and other perilous places to roam in the game. Therefore, you should have got a sound knowledge of how every weapon in the game works and which one suits your playstyle. In our TES: Blades Weapons Guide, we discuss the stats of each weapon along with its cost and any other requirements to be fulfilled.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades Weapons

Weapons in The Elder Scrolls: Blades either deal damage of a slash nature, a bashing one or lastly a cleaving strike.

The former category holds swords and daggers while hammers and maces will deal bashing damage. Axes are the only weapon that inflicts cleaving damage.

All weapons are categorized into three categories i.e. Heavy, Light, and Versatile. These groups dictate differences when it comes to the range, start-up, and damage on the use of the weapon.

Heavy Weapons

Battleaxes, Warhammers, and Greatswords all have one thing in common: they deal massive damage.

The chances of critical hits are often higher with such two-handed weapons and should you land such a strike, you can whittle down an enemy’s health considerably.

Moreover, Heavy Weapons have a good block rating which is a good thing since you won’t be able to yield another defensive equipment like a shield.

With that said, Heavy Weapons are slow for initiating attacks and chaining combos together yields little benefits. The main idea is to look for gaps between the enemy’s attack and take the opportune moment to deliver a heavy blow.

Light Weapons

The opposite of Heavy Weapons, these compromise damage dealt for speed of attacks and combo opportunities. Critical Strikes are also not as favorable as it won’t add that much to the output damage.

Since these are one-handed weapons, you can equip a shield for a more defensive approach. The idea is to chain multiple strikes to get the combo meter going and dishing out decent damage that way.

Versatile Weapons

These weapons borrow some ideas from Heavy Weapons and some from Light Weapons.

You can switch between two playstyles with Versatile Weapons as you can either use the weapon with conjunction with a shield or wield it like a two-handed weapon for increased damage.

These aren’t favorable for either critical hits or combo strikes but can be used to adapt to different circumstances and situational conflicts.

If we had to pick some recommendations for you, we’d advise you to stick with swords as they’re the most accessible weapons and deal decent damage to the enemy without requiring much effort.

The Watcher’s Longsword, acquired from the Hero Pack, is a very quick sword that you can also use for chaining combos for additional damage.
