EA’s Community Engagement Specialist, Jay Ingram AKA Charlemagne, confirms that there will be no Collector’s Edition for the upcoming adventure game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
The confirmation comes from a screenshot of a Discord group conversation Ingram was a part of. ChrisM227, presumably a fan, asked Ingram whether or not fans will get to see a Collector’s Edition for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to which Ingram replies “No CE (Collector’s Edition) for JFO (Jedi: Fallen Order)”.
Collector’s Editions are different from regular retail versions of the game and usually come with several perks such as in-game content, game artwork, game guides, action figures, etc. These perks offer certain advantages to the consumer that the regular version doesn’t. Of course, all of this isn’t for free, Collector’s Editions are usually 3 times the price of the regular retail version.
EA seems to be learning from its past mistakes of games being bogged down with microtransactional content, essentially making it a pay-to-win scenario for players. Which is why Respawn Entertainment confirmed last week that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order won’t have microtransactions.
Although Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order won’t have a Collector’s Edition, what it will have is a Pre-order Bonus that comes with “unique cosmetic equipment for your lightsaber and droid companion.”
There will also be a deluxe edition which will come with the game, a preorder bonus, additional cosmetics, as well as “behind-the-scenes features and content.”
If you buy from GameStop online, you’ll get access to the exclusive Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order bundle which comes with a Black Series figure.
There is also a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Art Book which can be bought separately, it will contain concept art, some of it that made into the game and some of which didn’t.
Here’s everything we know so far about the Fallen Order release date, latest Fallen Order news, and general Fallen Order gameplay details revealed so far.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen will release in fall 2019 for Microsoft’s Xbox One, PC and Sony’s PlayStation 4.
