The upcoming Star Wars game from Respawn Entertainment leak points to what type of game Jedi Fallen Order is. Fans will be happy to know that the title isn’t an open world multiplayer-driven experience like Anthem/Destiny.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is linear in its gameplay design and the experience is reminiscent of games like the Force Unleashed, another title the leak mentioned.
Moreover, Jedi Fallen Order will feature a pre-determined character so there is no character creation mode. Don’t expect the option to make your own protagonist since you’ll be following the story of a pre-established character.
The source of these leaks also says that the game will be much longer than just five hours. How will this content be packed into a linear experience should be interesting to see?
We could be seeing a lot of replayability in the game either through very long stages or a large number of levels instead.
Could this game possibly break the curse that EA has had with Star Wars games? Respawn has already saved the company once before with the release of Apex Legends. Will they be able to pull off another miracle with the new single player Star Wars game?
The upcoming Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is definitely a step away from the traditional live-service model that Electronic Arts is notorious for.
Here’s to hoping this game sees itself to completion and doesn’t get canceled like many others before it. This includes Star Wars 1313 and the Uncharted style Star Wars Visceral game led by Amy Hennig. That game was actually well into development before being cancelled.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order remains in production with an unannounced release date. Until then, it’s safe to assume the game will release on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in November 2019. A full reveal of Respawn’s Star Wars game is set for EA Play in June.
