The Division 2 Low Weapon Damage Bug Has a Workaround

A Reddit user has come across a bug in The Division 2 that lowers weapons damage.

The bug was discovered by Reddit user Yoyuyi999 who also posted a short gyfcat that provides a demonstration of the bug. The Division 2 weapons damage bug occurs when the players are using their main AR build. The weapons screen shows him having 19,995 weapon damage and 8,792 weapon damage with normalization on. But when he switches to another loadout and checks his stats again, the weapon damage goes down to 17,212 and 7,548 with normalization. Now, this is a very considerable drop in weapon damage. Any The Division player can tell you that this can make a big difference in both PvE and PvP.

Recently, players also discovered a loot exploit within The Division 2 that brought unlimited specialization points and loot. The exploit became possible after the recent update that added Tidal Basin, new weapons, and gear sets. The exploit is triggered when the player completes certain daily missions in a specific way.

Both exploits are occurring after The Division 2 update version 1.05. There were many fixes, new balance changes and more included in the latest update. The thing to notice in the patch notes is that although they state that the Crit Damage and Headshot Damage are lowered across all existing gear, they don’t say anything about straight weapon damage.

Fortunately, Yoyuyi999 also gives a temporary fix for this bug in their Reddit post. Players can solve this issue by simply logging out and logging back in again, and making sure that they have the build they want to run before logging out. But this also means that they can’t equip any new items otherwise their stats will go down again.

So far, Massive Entertainment hasn’t commented on any of the bugs. But they will probably fix these issues in their next patch. Stay tuned for more updates.
