New Monster Hunter World Update 5.2 Adds High Resolution Textures for Free

Capcom has now released a new Monster Hunter World update version 5.2 for all PC players which adds support for high-resolution textures pack. This patch will take your PC version of the game to 167353 and requires at least 29.2GB of storage space to install.

The update also adds a “TAA+FXAA” option to Anti-Aliasing in the game’s Advanced Graphics Settings. It also adds a new mouse control option which will eliminate un-intentional inputs by the user while controlling the Focus Camera. New “Friends Can Join” option has been added to let your friends join the game within the on-going private session.

The aforementioned high-resolution textures pack requires 40 GB of free space to be download and also needs 8 GB of graphics memory (VRAM). The textures pack is something not for everyone due to the high requirements.

Moreover, the patch fixes many other issues that the players have been encountering in the game. Here’s a list of some other major changes part of the update as included in the patch notes for Monster Hunter World PC update 5.2.

Major Features/Design Changes

  • Added a meter to the Advanced Graphics Settings menu that shows how much PC VRAM (graphics memory) you’re using with the currently applied settings.
  • When selecting “Take All” at the rewards screen after completing a quest, a list of all items received will now be displayed.
  • Added a camera control category to the keyboard settings.
Camera control used to be tied to the O, K, L, and + keys, but they can now be changed to other keys by going to the main menu > Options > Key Config.
  • When selecting “Take All” at the rewards screen after completing a quest, a list of all items received will now be displayed.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where a player would perform a backstep facing the left if they performed a neutral evade (backstep) within 0.3 seconds of performing a guard with the analog stick.
  • Player characters are supposed to be displayed with high-resolution textures at all times, but there was a bug where the player would be displayed with a similar texture
  • Fixed a bug causing low scroll sensitivity when using the scroll wheel on the Skill Info screen.
  • Fixed a bug where the Support window on the title screen would show the web manual and support page URL for other platforms.

The PC release of Monster Hunter World has turned to be a massive success. It’s the second biggest platform for the game according to Capcom’s EMEA and UK marketing director Antoine Molant.
