Details for Borderlands 3 box art and collector’s edition have been leaked ahead of the game’s official reveal tomorrow. The leak comes from Twitter user Wario64 but Gearbox made it unconvincing, by choosing to respond with humor instead of rejecting the leak altogether.
The leak includes cover art of Borderlands 3 Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Super Deluxe Edition and Diamond Loot Chest Collector’s Edition.
You can see the cover art in all its glory below:
Looking at the art, we are glad Gearbox has finally decided to not make Psycho shoot himself in a third way. Instead, he’s now holding a hand grenade which looks sick if you ask me. This comes after Randy Pitchford joking around by saying that the game has been delayed until they figure out how to make series cover model shoot himself in a third different way.
Next, we have got our first look at possible different editions of the game along with the collector’s edition, which should be a treat for the enthusiasts and includes:
- Borderlands 3 game
- Steelbook case
- Season Pass
- Deluxe bonus content
- Gold weapon skins pack
- Diamond Loot chest replica
- Sanctuary 3 snap model
- 10 character figurines
- 5 character art lithographs
- 4 Vault Key keychains
- Cloth map of the galaxy
There are a couple of interesting things to take out from the above bullet points. The mention of “Sanctuary 3”, hints at the the existence of the Sanctuary in the upcoming Borderlands 3. Which will most likely be the base station in the game as it was in Borderlands 2.
And if we are to consider “map of the galaxy”, we are inclined to believe the existence of the different worlds in the game beyond Pandora!
Gold weapon skins pack is also listed which has appeared before in a Tweet, and later deleted.
Of course, Borderlands 3 has the season pass which is not something surprising to see inside a game in 2019. But, that is not something we are super excited about but we will comment on that aspect once we have more details.
Leaks and rumors are usually debunked as soon as they go viral, but we need to give this information a bit more value. Wario64 has an impressive track record of releasing credible information. Add to that, Gearbox responding to leak in a cheaky way instead of denying it.
How do you do, fellow gamers? This sure looks neat! Guess we all better tune in tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. PT to find out if it’s real…
As for fans of the franchise, we are hoping to see great things in tomorrow’s live stream. which will also reveal the release date of the game.
Borderlands 3 is published by 2K Games, developed by Gearbox Software and is set to launch on Microsoft’s Xbox One, PC and Sony’s PlayStation 4.
