Did Gearbox Just Troll Fans With Borderlands 3 Release Date?

Borderlands 3 official twitter account accidentally revealed the release date of the epic looter-shooter game. Gold weapon skins pack on pre-ordering the game was also teased in the tweet. The tweet was then deleted but luckily someone managed to take a picture and post it on the internet.

The tweet uses the word ‘Mayhem’ instead of the title. The word ‘Mayhem’ has also been used by Gearbox several times to describe Borderlands 3. Borderlands 3 twitter account also posted 6-second footage which featured Epic store logo at its end, this post was deleted too but a Twitter user Wario64 captured an image of the video and posted it. Does this mean Borderlands 3 is an Epic store exclusive? Well, not necessarily but there is a chance as the video did not feature a Steam logo.

It would be interesting to see if this is actually true or the Tweet was just a trolling attempt by Gearbox. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens in the coming weeks. However, the most likely platform that’ll bring Borderlands 3 news is E3 2019. The biggest gaming event of the year is set for June and Gearbox is expected to be there with a gameplay trailer and release date for Borderlands 3.

Borderlands 3 was announced at PAX East last week, and fans were pouring theories and predicted it to release on October 1 this year. The posted release date for Borderlands 3, September 13, does not seem too far off from fans prediction.

Gearbox will reveal further details about Borderlands 3 on April 3, so we’ll certainly find out the authenticity of this news. Borderlands 3 release date isn’t something that will take much time but again, it’s Epic Games Store exclusivity could be an issue.
