Sekiro Shadows Die Twice Lady Butterfly Boss Guide – How to Beat, Rewards, Attacks and Strategies

In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Lady Butterfly is one of the coolest bosses. And while she can be a menace for some, she is not as tough as some people think.

The key to beating Lady Butterfly in Sekiro is to be patient – something a lot of Dark Souls veterans will relate to. In our Lady Butterfly Boss Fight Guide, we have detailed everything you need to know about beating her.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Lady Butterfly Boss

After the Drunkard fight, you will enter the mansion behind. At the end of the mansion, you will come across Lady Butterfly in a huge hall.

At first glance, you will notice that the boss only has one life bar. However, do note that her Posture Meter is bigger than her HP bar and recovers super quickly.

Naturally, to take her out, the best way is to deplete her entire HP bar, but you can also fill her Posture Meter if you land consecutive hits.

Lady Butterfly is very agile. She will attack relentlessly with a barrage of fast attacks and uses lengthy combos that can be deflected but there is no point in that because her Posture recovers super quickly.

She also uses aerial attacks as well as throwing knives.

How to Beat Lady Butterfly?

In order to Lady Butterfly in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, you have to wait for her to attack and attack her while she is recovering.

To do so, watch out for the moves mentioned above and then counterattack. You can dodge away, but a more effective way is to jump away.

You can bait out her aerial grab or her areal kick to get some hits on her and jump away. Do not worry if she blocks you because it fills up her Posture Meter.

When you have completely drained her HP bar, she will be stunned, allowing you to perform a Deathblow. However, do not breathe easy now because the old maiden will return for round two.

During the second phase, wait for her dialogue to end, land a few hits, and repeat the same strategy you used during the first phase. However, during the second phase, she will have a couple of more attacks up her sleeve.

The new moves include ranged projectiles that spawn as she is doing her combos or she sometimes directly throw them at you. You can take cover behind the wooden pillars in order to avoid them or simply dodge them.

The other attack is much more hard-hitting one, but it is as easy to deal with. She summons a bunch of phantoms to fight alongside her.

When this happens, you have to avoid the conflict and run around the arena, avoiding her knife throws while doing so.

The phantoms are very slow and are barely able to keep up with you. You can easily run circles around them but keep an eye out for her ranged attacks.

After a certain amount of time, the phantoms will vanish. Once done, just repeat the same process and you should kill her.
