Following the routine Kombat Kast, we’ve had our latest reveal in the form of Kotal Kahn, the Outworld Emperor following Shao Khan’s death. The reveal was interesting to say the least for reasons I’ll explain. Also worth mentioning that this Mortal Kombat 11 Kotal Kahn reveal sort of served as a reveal for Jacqui Briggs as well. A duet of sorts if you will.
I think it’s really impressive that Kotal managed to die in his own reveal. That has to be a milestone of sorts right? Maybe it was a little oopsie in the Netherrealm Studios marketing department honestly. I mean this was a Jacqui Briggs reveal trailer, wasn’t it?
The Jade reveal is how you do a proper character showcase. I have no idea what this was since we didn’t see Kotal’s fatality or even his fatal move. Maybe the trailer’s actually a warning not to play as Kotal?
Should’ve been called the Mortal Kombat 11 Jacqui Briggs reveal honestly. I did love her fatality. The updated finishers really show that Netherrealm Studios hasn’t run out of violent ideas yet.
Her fatal move wasn’t too good compared to most of the ones I’ve seen. The bullets being sent back by the field was a bit dope though, I’m not gonna lie.
She also looks more like a brawling emphasized character. That’s refreshing since she used to be exploited as an annoying spam character in Mortal Kombat X. That wasn’t the case here.
Anyways, the little bit of Mortal Kombat 11 Kotal Kahn we saw was the combos he landed on Jacqui. Out of all the characters, Kahn has changed the least visually. At least in my opinion. We’re still familiar with his big cleaver, worship of the Aztech Gods and ability to summon buffs. All we saw though, was him briefly conjure up a statue before the ass whooping continued.
That’s two more characters confirmed for MK 11 though. Alongside Cassie Cage, Kano, Erron Black and D’vorah.
