Sniper Elite 5 Confirmed by Rebellion Developments, No Release Date Yet

Rebellion Developments has confirmed Sniper Elite 5 to be in development alongside other games across platforms like the Nintendo Switch as well.

Rebellion Developments hasn’t released another Sniper Elite game since 4 which was two years ago. Don’t worry though, because they did, in fact, confirm that Sniper Elite 5 is in development. Not only that, more Sniper Elite games are on the way.

Sniper Elite 4 did very well when it came out, we definitely enjoyed it thoroughly.

Alongside the confirmation of Sniper Elite 5, Rebellion is working on several other titles associated with the series. Including a remaster of Sniper Elite V2 which came out in 2012.

The remaster will have updated textures, more playable characters and new multiplayer options. So it’s more than just an HD retexture basically.

Sniper Elite 3 will also be released on the Nintendo Switch in an ultimate edition variant. An impressive addition to the Nintendo Switch’s already diverse roster.

An unnamed VR Sniper Elite is also being worked on. We have no information on that game besides the fact that it’s VR however. Not a name, premise or setting. It’s interesting to see a game like Sniper Elite coming on VR though. It could definitely be optimal for the device.

If you haven’t played the series, it’s definitely worth the pick. The games put players in a what-if scenario of actual world history. Specifically the second world war, and you know what that means.

You do indeed get to kill Hitler, and in many interesting ways in the most recent installment. Though the kill was pretty fishy since Hitler had two balls there, maybe a body double?

That brings me to my next point, the game’s signature aspect is the x-ray shots. As a sniper, when you land a kill shot, the game takes you into a dynamic slow-mo clip of the shot hitting its mark.

You can shoot people in the skull, heart and yes, the nuts. If you’d like to see what Rebellion Developments have been doing since the last Sniper Elite, here’s what they made.

20 year old Chaotic Neutral. I love me some Gwent. Linking the flame is for pussies though. Also the true Mortal Kombatant that remains unbeaten. I love single player games with a compelling story and ...
