Gearbox Teases Borderlands 2 For Nintendo Switch, PAX To Bring News?

Latest Tweet by Borderlands developer suggests a possible Borderlands 2 port for the Nintendo Switch.

Fans of the famous Borderlands series are all ready and waiting for a Borderlands 3 announcement during PAX East. The internet went crazy a few days ago when Gearbox teased a possible third installment in the series via a tweet.

Studio boss Randy Pitchford revealed back in 2016 that the team is working on next Borderlands game which hasn’t come out yet so what else do we need to know. Gearbox also showed a tech demo of the game running on Unreal Engine.

Wide speculation suggests that Gearbox will be showcasing Borderlands 3 at PAX soon but… is there something else as well?

Gearbox officially sent out a Tweet on 14 Mar 2019 precisely at 10:00 AM. The Tweet had a blurred image of what seems to be Maya overlooking the shrine in Bloodshot Ramparts. The image is clearly from Borderlands 2!

Why would Gearbox be teasing Borderlands 2 again instead of Borderlands 3? Well, the only sensible theory suggests that Borderland 2 just might be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Another giveaway is the “Another” in “Time to tease another game for PAX!” Meaning NOT Borderlands 3.

Borderlands 2 coming out on the Nintendo Switch wouldn’t be too much of a surprise. After all, the game was previously ported to the PS Vita and Shield hardware as well.

This is incredible news for Switch owners. It also means that they are one step closer to Borderlands 3 coming to Switch!

Gearbox will be hosting its PAX East 2019 panel on 28th March. Fingers crossed for any Switch related announcements made. We’ll be covering all news regarding Borderlands at PAX so make sure to stay tuned!
