Devil May Cry 5 Vergil Made Playable By Mods, Possibly Playable In The Actual Game Soon

Now while he may or may not be in the plot of the game, I’ll leave that part out of this intro since Itsuno san humbly pleaded not to spoil the game. If you haven’t finished the game, don’t read this. But here’s how Devil May Cry 5 Vergil might be playable.

If you’re still here, then yes. You must be wondering if Vergil is a playable character in the game right? His moveset looked like something a player could pull off. Plus the guy looks slick as hell.

The mod basically was the use of a cheat engine. Not the scummy cheats that aimbotters used. I mean the acceptable single-player kind.

The engine essentially lets you swap out the character you’re playing as by changing your player ID. You got 1, 2, and 3 as the trio we know to be playable. What happens when you tap 4 though? Boom, you get to play as Vergil.

The fact that he exists as the 4th player, has a fully playable moveset, as well as animations not present in his boss fight all point to the fact that he’ll probably be playable in the future.

My bet is that he’ll be a character you can select in the upcoming free bloody palace update on April 1st. Plus assuming it also has co-op like the dataminers are saying it will, we could have some epic team-ups. Dante and Vergil as brothers, Nero and Vergil as father and son? Possibilities are endless.

We haven’t seen the original Vergil in the story of a Devil May Cry game since 3. That’s what made his returning scene in Devil May Cry 5 so badass. The glass falling to the ground with his slow turn. The menacing look was made even cooler by the appearance of his nametag as the “Alpha and the Omega”.

Vergil has been playable in past games before as well. Such as the special edition of Devil May Cry 3, so it’s not far fetched to think that Capcom will do the same here.

Fingers crossed!
