BioWare Won’t Abandon Anthem, Studio Answers Criticism

Everyone knows how bad Anthem is doing right now. A Reddit user “harishcs” asked BioWare “what’s going on?” in an open- letter Reddit thread with more than 4,300 upvotes.

The thread went on to criticize several issues with EA’s Anthem such as its massive list of bugs, downgrades, unbalanced loot system and much more. The user ends the post by saying “we still believe in this game.”

Jesse Anderson, a community manager at BioWare, followed up with a lengthy reply, addressing all the criticism. The whole reply can be found here and is worth the read.

First, I want to thank you for writing this up, I appreciate the honesty of how you (and others) feel about the current state of things. I also want to say that I can’t talk about everything, simply because it is not my area of expertise, or because I don’t have the information you’re looking for. I stand by our statement of being transparent though and will continue to do so here and on other channels.

The post goes on to address several bugs and to say that BioWare is doing everything they can. The best bits that sum up the entire response are:

Anthem is here to stay […] Do we have a lot of work to do to fix parts of the game? Yes, and the team is committed to making improvements and releasing new content … The team is listening to all of your feedback for Anthem on how you’d like to see the game improve, or how you’d like to see us engage with the community differently. I know that players want to see updates faster, but these things can take time to make sure they are done right. We’re very appreciative of this community and look forward to the days, weeks, months and years ahead.

All of this suggests that they’re willing to fix Anthem’s issues and they aren’t ignoring the community. We all hope the best for BioWare and Anthem. However, many are organizing a boycott of the game.

Anthem is an online game by BioWare for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Out now!
