Did Anthem Brick Your PS4 Console? Here’s a Possible Fix

BioWare’s Anthem is now out in the wild bricking and crashing consoles especially the PS4 but luckily we have found a way to fix the issue. You can hopefully bring your system back to life using the safe mode.

It’s been discovered by a Redditor that the game corrupts your PS4’s file management system. It doesn’t actually brick your console but instead makes it temporarily inaccessible.

To fix it, you have to take your console into the safe mode which is possible by holding the power button on the console until you hear two loud beeps. This can’t be done using the DualShock 4 controller so make sure to use the power button on your console.

If you do it right, you will be inside the safe mode with different options available to choose from. Look out for an option called “Rebuild Database” and initiate it. This will fix your issues hopefully.

The above method should also work if you are experiencing lags and unusual freezing while using the console.

Also, make sure to not accidentally select the “initialize” option from the safe mode menu as that formats all the data present on your HDD/SSD.

Do note that we are not helping you to give the game another chance as it’s a complete disaster. I personally won’t try the game again until EA and BioWare realize their horrible mistakes and fix them.

The developers are shying away from the above issue by ignoring the troubled players on Reddit or Twitter. It’s not their fault as they are having problems to figure out what’s actually happening. They are now in the process of gathering information at the official EA forums.

Hey Freelancers,

We are currently in process of gathering information about the PS4 issues so we can determine the root cause. If you are experiencing hard crashes of your console please reply with the following information:

PlayStation Console: (PS4, Slim, Pro)

PSN ID:

Crash Info:When does the crash take place? Are you having to take specific steps to get your PlayStation going again?

Have you reported your crash data when prompted? (Y/N)

If you are one of the victims then fill out the information above today as this issue won’t be fixed until BioWare releases a patch from their side. It’s not your system’s or routers’ fault.

After you are done resurrecting your PS4 console, waste no time to get Anthem refund as Sony is giving it away without any questions asked.

Anthem is now available to play on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.
