Anthem Bug Makes Endgame Guns Useless, Community Furious Over Anthem’s Development

There is a new Anthem weapons bug that makes end game weapons useless. The Anthem bug makes low level weapons more powerful.

Anthem players have discovered a bug in the game that makes the rarest endgame guns useless, even when compared to level one guns that you get at the beginning of the level. Multiple accounts have reported that level 1 weapons are more powerful than the end game weapons. Apparently, this is due to an issue in difficulty scaling. Each weapon has a level of damage it can inflict but this issue causes the game engine to identify low-level gear having more damage points than high-level gear.

A Reddit user by the name of “YeetLordSupreme” posted about this when his level one Defender rifle completely destroyed a high-level enemy. The thing that was so surprising was that it didn’t even take a lot of shots. Another Reddit user “beatpeet42” also shared a GIF of it. All it takes is three shots and The Scar Scout’s shield goes down.

The Ranlers Blaze deals about 1442 damage with each shot but the Defender is dealing around 238. There’s a quite bit of rarity and power gap between them. Just take a look at the health bar on the Scar Scout and we can clearly see that the Defender is doing more damage.

Rumor has it that it will be fixed in the March 12th update.

“The level 1 Cloudburst puts the Warden to shame. Cuts through enemies like a hot knife through butter in GM1, it’s hilarious. Everything seems to be hitting harder. Shield Charge, Ultimate, Railgun all absolutely deleting enemies.” Said Reddit user Hydrox2016 on Anthem’s official Reddit.

BioWare technical design director Brenon Holmes confirmed an investigation into the matter of Anthem’s weapons bug.

We’ll need to investigate this, scaling systems are supposed to allow low-level players to play with high-level players to be effective against high-level enemies. This is not intended, something ain’t right there.

With Anthem already receiving a major downgrade in terms of graphics and gameplay from what we already saw at E3, and then Anthem causing the whole PS4 to crash (we do have a fix for it), these bugs are making players boycott the game altogether. In fact, Sony recently started to offer refunds for Anthem to anyone who wanted out.

Anthem is a looter shooter and when the rarest weapons are rendered useless in the game, the looting system becomes meaningless. Anthem is an online multiplayer action role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
