Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Won’t Have Multiplayer, Confirmed Release for 2019?

Call of Duty 2019 is going to be developed by Infinity Ward, the creators of the popular Modern Warfare series of games. Back in 2016, the studio released Infinite Warfare bundled with Modern Warfare Remastered. Ever since the release of Modern Warfare Remastered, fans wanted to see Modern Warfare 2 Remastered as well.

And it looks like this may finally be happening. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered has been rated by PEGI (Pan European Game Information). The rating given by PEGI is 18+ to Modern Warfare 2.

The most interesting part of this listing is the fact that it doesn’t mention the multiplayer mode of the game. The listing mentions the game as “Call of Duty Modern 2 Warfare Campaign Remastered.”

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is a combat simulation game in which the player takes the roles of various members of a Special Operations team attempting to thwart the plans of a Russian…

It is unclear at this point if this game is going to feature the multiplayer mode. The previous Modern Warfare Remastered had the multiplayer mode as well as the story mode ready at release. Some of the multiplayer maps were added later on by the developer Beenox. Activision outsourced Modern Warfare Remastered to Beenox in order to allow Infinity Ward to fully focus on Infinite Warfare.

The same seems to be happening this time around as well. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is presumably being developed by Beenox with assistance from Infinite Warfare developer Infinity Ward.

The official announcement is yet to be made by Activision and Infinity Ward. Announcements for Call of Duty games are made a couple of months prior to E3 so we can expect Call of Duty 2019 to be announced sometime in March or early April.

There are rumors that the next Call of Duty game is Modern Warfare 4. The fans have been waiting for Modern Warfare 4 ever since the release of Modern Warfare 3.

Rest assured, the story mode will remain intact this year unlike last year’s Black Ops 4. We may not see a new Battle Royale game from Activision. Treyarch will continue supporting Battle Royale mode of Call of Duty Black Ops 4.

Meanwhile, Modern Warfare 4 or whatever Infinity Ward is working on will remain a story-driven experience mixed with the classic Call of Duty MP experience, at least that’s what we are hoping to see.
