Respawn Entertainment launched Apex legends earlier this week. While fans are disappointed with the news that the studio is not developing Titanfall 3 but, Respawn is also developing Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. According to EA, the game plays spectacularly well and Respawn will start showcasing Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order gameplay soon.
During the investors call for EA’s Q3 of the fiscal year 2019, EA assured that Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will release in 2019.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson added that he got to play the preview build of Jedi Fallen Order and ii plays “Spectacularly Well”.
In addition to Apex Legends, another team at Respawn is set to deliver Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order this fall. This game’s development is led by the former director of the God of War series, with a team of veterans from some of the industry’s biggest action-adventure games. It’s very far along in development and having spent time with it recently myself, it plays spectacularly well. This game truly captures the fantasy of becoming a Jedi, and we will have a lot more to share soon.
EA CFO Blake Jorgensen even went ahead and confirmed that gamers will see glimpses of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order gameplay in coming months.
This indicates Respawn Entertainment will start releasing trailer and gameplay demo for its upcoming Star Wars title.
Jorgensen added that he also got to play the game for 20 minutes and noted that Jedi Fallen Order is an exceptional game. He noted that fans will be blows away.
You’ll start to see in the next few months glimpses of the Star Wars game and I think you’ll be blown away by what you see. We’ve played 20 plus minutes of it last week and it is exceptional in terms of its level of polish, depth and living inside of the Star Wars world as a Jedi and I think people will be blown away by it.
As for where Jedi Fallen Order will fall in Star Wars timeline, the game is set 5 years after Revenge of the Sith. Meaning the game will show Jedi being hunted down by the Empire.
While fans are excited for a Star Wars game from Respawn but, EA’s treatment of Star Wars license has been appalling.
This is the very reason many fans skeptical of the upcoming Jedi Fallen Order. Even Star Wars Rogue One writer wants EA’s license for the franchise to be revoked.
Also, reports are circulating the internet that EA has also canceled the open-world Star Wars game.
The game was in development at EA Motive and reportedly, EA has shifted the studio to work on a smaller Star Wars title.
Still, I am very excited and is waiting eagerly for Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order gameplay showcase. If Respawn can really make an exceptional Star Wars title, it will definitely help EA’s situation.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is in development at Respawn Entertainment for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
