BioWare’s Next Game Isn’t Dragon Age 4, It’s Jade Empire

BioWare fans are expecting the announcement and reveal of Dragon Age  4 aka The Dread Wolf Rises at this year’s E3 event. However, the game won’t release anytime soon. The next game from BioWare to release could very well be Jade Empire.

Jade Empire is a classic Martial Arts RPG from BioWare and EA recently filed a patent for the game. The new patent filing is a strong indication that EA is planning to release another Jade Empire game headed by BioWare.

While this is exciting news for Jade Empire news for fans, it should be noted that companies often renew patents to protect their intellectual properties. The last time we saw Jade Empire was back in 2005 when an installment in the franchise released on Xbox 360.

BioWare acquired the IP in 2007.

The new Jade Empire trademark was filed under “Goods and Services.”

Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game; Provision of information relating to electronic computer games provided via the Internet.

The patent indicates that the game may feature some form of online multiplayer which is understandable considering it’s an EA game. However, this could also simply mean that the game can be downloaded through the internet. So this can not be taken as a confirmation of online elements.

EA filed a similar patent for Apex Legends back on October 2018. The free to play Battle Royale game is set in the Titanfall universe. In fact, it is indeed free to play Titanfall Battle Royale game from EA.

As for Dragon Age 4 aka The Dread Wolf Rises, the game is expected to be shown at E3 2019 during EA PLAY. The new installment in the Dragon Age series was announced at The Game Awards 2018. A brief teaser was shown by EA with pretty much nothing to go on.

Drago Age Inquisition released back in 2014 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game garnered a shining review from both critics and fans.

Expectations from the new Dragon Age game are high.
