Resident Evil 2 Remake is Hiding Chris Redfield Character Model and He’s Playable!

Resident Evil modding community has found the character model of Chris Redfield inside the game files hinting at his return in a future DLC.

Resident Evil modding community has found the character model of Chris Redfield inside the files of Resident Evil 2 Remake. RE 2 Remake is finally out which allows everyone to dig deep in the game’s files and the most interesting thing discovered is the character model which makes us guess that Capcom is hiding something.

Interestingly, Chris Redfield model that’s seen in the game files is based on his last appearance in End of Zoe DLC for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. This sudden finding of Chris in the game files is worth giving attention to as he’s not seen in the original Resident Evil 2. The game stars Leon and Claire as the main protagonists and Chris is mentioned by the name only. You can check him out in the picture below as he looks ready to take down zombies.

According to the post, Chris is perfectly playable but “When He puts his weapons Away, They will just follow him on the ground. I’m guessing this is because he maybe doesn’t have the bones to support them.”

Now, this brings us to the question that is Capcom planning on releasing him as a part of downloadable content. He can also be added to the Ghost Survivors mode as the developers have promised before or maybe he’s getting his own little story in the upcoming DLC.

Arguably, he’s the face of the Resident Evil series along with Leon and Claire as he appeared in the first installment as a hero. If he comes, it’s going to be like a dream come true for all the fans. We did get to see him in the Resident Evil 7 but it’s never enough and Capcom knows that.

You can use the file here to play as him until he actually arrives. Unluckily you can only do that on PC platform so let’s wait and watch for the upcoming free DLC that Capcom has planned. Do take this all with a grain of salt as it could be nothing else than an easter egg.

Three pieces of Resident Evil 2 DLC content will arrive in February but until then you play the remake on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
