Resident Evil 2 Microtransactions Bring 98 Classic Costumes With Original Character Designs

During a recent launch party event in Japan, Capcom announced 98 classic costumes as paid DLC for Resident Evil 2 Remake. The publisher revealed that all of the costumes will come with original character designs with low poly-count.

The price of Resident Evil 2 DLC isn’t yet confirmed by publisher Capcom. However, it is a possibility that all of the paid DLC is going to be free with the Deluxe Edition of the game.

The PlayStation 4 version of Resident Evil 2 may probably come with 98 classic costumes since Sony and Capcom have a long-standing partnership for RE series. But nothing is confirmed for the time being.

While all of the DLCs are paid, players of the game will get all 98 costumes for free starting March 22, 2019, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

The classic costumes are a great way to pay homage to one of the best entries into the Resident Evil series. The entire list of costumes is yet to be revealed but more details should arrive in the coming days.

The costumes will be paid at launch day so all of the content will be available right off the bat. Two costumes that we saw are of Clair Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy.

Resident Evil 2 Remake aka Biohazard 2 Remake is releasing on January 25 on consoles and PC. Pre-orders for the game are available for $59.99 on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Steam.

Capcom released a one-shot demo for players to give them a taste of the changes made to the classic Resident Evil game. The demo was played by over 2 million people, however, most of them couldn’t finish it.

According to stats, only 26% of players could complete the RE2 Remake demo. Capcom allowed only 30-minutes access to the demo. But the full game is confirmed to be bigger than the original.
