Netflix company which was once offered $50 million by Blockbuster is now facing competition by the world-famous game Fortnite. We never thought that this could happen but Netflix has openly admitted in their “Netflix earnings call report” that Fortnite is more competition to them instead of streaming giants like HBO, Amazon Prime, and Hulu.
Fortnite is making big names now, even in the streaming industry which is soon going to be filled with more streaming competition from companies like Disney and Warner Bros. Netflix is losing its customers to Fortnite and that makes complete sense since the game is almost available on every possible device, including the Nintendo Switch.
I personally think that Netflix is lagging behind Fortnite in terms of devices. One of them being Nintendo Switch which already has the game on it, unlike Netflix which is still not available. Fortnite is a drug for adults and more specifically children. Every hour someone plays a single game of Fortnite that results in competition being taken away from Netflix. Yes, you can’t do both at the same time as Fortnite is preferably a better choice in the eyes of gamers.
Netflix earnings call report reads:
We compete with (and lose to) Fortnite more than HBO.
It’s also a big achievement for Epic Games to make Netflix openly admit it in their earnings call report. Without a doubt, there has been no other game before Fortnite that took away the interest of everyone or posed as a threat to Netflix which is the lead streaming service provider in the world.
Bringing Netflix to Nintendo Switch is currently the best move they can make to bring more audience to watch their successful shows like “You” which is a current big hit according to Netflix.
It’s not the first time that Fortnite has proved itself as a global phenomenon. 2018 proved to be another big year for the game, as we saw it dominating the charts in various different categories, sites, and search engines.
If you are not impressed, then we have to tell you that Fortnite was the second most searched term on Pornhub in 2018 followed by a Pornstar Stormy Daniels. Pornhub then also confirmed that this wasn’t something out of the blue as the searches for Fortnite increased every time with a new character or a skin. Remember when Fortnite’s servers crashed? Searches for it on Pornhub increased by 60% in 24 hours so don’t stop contributing, Pornhub thanks you.
Fortnite is also making headlines in the competitive world. To make things even better, Epic Games has now announced that they will not release game-changing updates before tournaments. There will now be a new release window update that will “provide reasonable time for [players] to adjust strategies following large gameplay impacting changes.”
Fortnite is now available to play on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Mobile.
