January 15th officially marks 115 days since Call of Duty Black Ops 4 was released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. And Treyarch, the developers of Black Ops 4, has an inside/self-declared holiday on the 115th of Call of Duty series. Treyarch dubs it as “a nod to the notorious Element 115“.
Treyarch has announced a number of changes on their blog that will be implemented soon. One of the biggest changes is the ability to FINALLY be able to pause your Black Ops 4 Zombies game. Of course, not everyone will be able to pause the game, only the host of the match should be able to.
But this should open gates for more communication between players asking to “pls pause the game, dad’s here” or “Pause or I’m going to lure this Brutus towards you”.
Some of the other changes to also be done soon in this game would be “factions”. Players have already had Dark Ops Challenges among other kinds of unique challenges, but there hasn’t been anything related to player choices, like in other games where you would get a unique thing from a specific faction that you wouldn’t get from any other faction. A prime example would be Warframe.
Anyways, the developers say that there will be 12 unique challenges related to Factions, which will grant players new customizations for each character, and even unlock some narrative that will enlighten the player to the Black Ops 4 Zombies universe “even further”. I kinda wish to get a custom skin for Spitfire, the best gun in the whole game (in my opinion).
Oh, best thing yet, some quality of life changes will also be made pretty soon. These include, but not limited to, Host Migration, performance fixes, split-screen game pause, expanded stats support, and more gauntlets. (To Infinity and beyond).
Oh, yep, Gauntlets are finally a thing in Black Ops 4 Zombies on PS4. The first map to get Gauntlets is the Unsinkable map in Voyage of Despair. Players will earn unique content and rewards for completing rounds 10, 20, and 30.
There is also a unique reward to “adorn your Emblem” if you complete 30 rounds without failing a single one. Black Ops 4 zombies is finally getting exciting again, isn’t it?
Of course, not all plans go accordingly, and Treyarch has mentioned in the ending paragraph that all details are subject to change during development.
Some things might change, more might get added and some might even get removed (I hope that’s you, Firebreak). We will surely update you on more content as time goes on, but please take today’s news with a grain of salt.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is currently free-to-play for the whole week. (January 16th to January 23nd) And yep, both Black Ops 4 and Blackout game mode are free.
If you’re looking to farm Reactive Camo Skins, you’re not gonna find them here. But fret not! we’ll have something on that soon. Until then, use the best SMG, Spitfire. Oh and if you’re looking for Scorestreaks Guide, we have that.
