Foxnext Games Working on Alien Console title After Alien: Blackout

Many have been disappointed with the recent reveal of Alien: Blackout which is a mobile game by FoxNext Games. But the future looks bright as FoxNext Games and Cold Iron Studios are also working on another title for consoles and it’s a “massively multiplayer online shooter.”

This is big news for those who didn’t like Alien: Blackout coming out on mobile devices. People have been expecting a new console game and a sequel to the classic 2014 horror game that was Alien: Isolation. To excite Alien: Isolation fans, FoxNext officially confirmed a possible sequel that it’s working on with Cold Iron Studios.

FoxNext revealed this “massively multiplayer online shooter game” in the press release of Alien: Blackout mobile game. FoxNext said: “FoxNext Games’ studio, Cold Iron Studios, is also currently at work on a massively multiplayer online shooter set in the Alien cinematic universe for consoles and PC.” There’s nothing else that we know about it as of now. Though it’s confirmed that a new Alien title is in development and it’s going to arrive after the recently announced Alien: Blackout.

As for Alien: Blackout, it’s a game by FoxNext Games, D3 Go!, and Rival Games. Alien Blackout lets you play as Amanda Ripley on Weyland-Yutani space station. You will have to avoid Alien encounters by outsmarting them. You can also risk the lives of crew members to avoid contact with these aliens.

The terror of Alien is brought to life in Alien: Blackout.

Try to stay alive while trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a deadly Xenomorph as it tirelessly hunts you and the crew. Outsmart the perfect hunter by making perilous choices. Players must rely on the damaged controls of the space station or risk sacrificing crew members to avoid deadly contact, permanently altering the outcome of the game.

Survive seven fear-inducing levels by remotely guiding Amanda Ripley’s crew through increasingly challenging tasks using only the station’s emergency systems. The uncertainty and unpredictability of both the alien and her crew can impose total defeat for Amanda and the entire station.

To survive, the players will have to use space station’s limited power supply to use things like holographic map, surveillance cameras, and motion tracker to remain hidden and to protect their crew. There are a total of seven levels in the game.

This Alien mobile game is currently available for pre-order on Apple App Store, Android Google Play and at Amazon Store for Kindle Fire.

Alien mobile game was long rumored to be announced at The Game Awards 2018 but it didn’t happen. FoxNext games then started teasing it on Twitter recently leading up to this announcement on Monday. The Tweet mentioned “read play and watch” referring that there’s a game, trilogy or maybe a comic book.

However, this Alien mobile game is not considered as a good approach following the terrible launch of Blizzard’s Diablo Immortal mobile game. Blizzard’s Diablo Immortal is coming to mobile platforms and almost everyone has negative comments about it since everyone was expecting a PC game.

Well, it looks like FoxNext is smart enough to reveal that they have other projects in work so we could see this online game launching on consoles and PC maybe in 2019 or in early 2020.
