The original Borderlands hasn’t gotten the same amount of love that its successor got. Since Borderlands 2 had a remastered edition for the Xbone and PS4. It was sold with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in a bundle called the handsome collection. Well, recently, the original game had a rating in Taiwan surface. Being called Borderlands: Game of the year edition, and it was supposedly for the PS4 and Xbox One.
The Game rating and administration committee of Korea did release a rating of this same title. The Borderlands: Game of the year edition, also for the PS4 and Xbox One. This was back in May 2017 and wasn’t followed up by any official announcement after that.
Today however, Taiwan brought the Borderlands: Game of the year edition again today. In the form of a rating for both consoles, meaning we could see the classic game brought back to the rivaling consoles’ online stores. Do keep an eye out.
Although it wasn’t as loved as Borderlands 2. The original Borderlands is still a very solid game worth picking. Especially if you haven’t played it before. Since the Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition may be coming to the PS4 and Xbox One.
The game follows the story of four vault hunters. Roland the Soldier, Lilith the Siren, Brick the Berserker and Mordecai the Hunter. The game is set on the planet of Pandora as you fight the Dahl corporation in an effort to access the fabled vault. One that only opens every 200 years, and its next opening is imminent.
The game is a first-person roleplay shooter game. Each of the four main characters representing a class. The classes then further branch out into 3 sub-classes per division. For examples, those playing as Mordecai have the option to specialize in either snipers, revolvers or his bird, Bloodwing.
The game’s arguably most notable trait is its procedurally generated weaponry and enemies. In fact, it’s one of the major selling points of the game series as a whole. The weapons in Borderlands have a tendency to generate with countless variations of elemental damage, fire rates, accuracy and unique traits. Such as a revolver that shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger. Or a rifle that shoots slow traveling bullets which explode on impact. There’s also some bazookas and shotguns that explode like grenades when reloaded. Lot’s of fun overall.
Borderlands: Game of the year edition for the PS4 and Xbox One will also feature all four of the game’s DLCs. The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx and ClapTrap’s new Robot revolution. It can also be played cooperatively with two players on split screen, or four players online.
