Zelda is one of the most popular characters in the Nintendo world and has been gaining a lot of traction especially after last year’s Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
In our Super Smash Bros Ultimate Zelda Guide, we talk about what changes have been brought on board for Zelda including her moves, combos, playing as Zelda, and countering her.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate Zelda
Zelda is one of the oldest characters in the Smash series and has had an ever-changing list of skills. Her first appearance was in the everlasting Super Smash Melee where she featured being able to change into her alternate personality: Sheik.
Of course, that was removed in Super Smash Bros. Brawl where both characters had their own character slots, but this made Zelda a relatively weak character.
Zelda in Melee is one of the most unique characters ever. She was nerfed in SSB but has become a really strong character to pick in this latest SSBU.
Changes and Moves List
Zelda suffers from slow combat and movement which makes her a C ranked fighter.
She has a new Ultimate Ability i.e. Triforce of Wisdom that sucks all enemies in front of her in a moderate radius and shoots them away.
Alternate costumes have been added for Zelda that are basically different colors of her dress: pink, red, blue, purple, green, black, and light blue. Zelda looks like a must-protecc anime waifu. Can’t argue with that!
Zelda’s animation and overall mood has been changed into a cheerful girl and is evident in one of her many fighting animations. She faces the screen no matter how you try to play, making her animations looks like they are mirrored. Kind of neat.
Zelda is now a tad faster (running speed increased from 1.3 to 1.43, dash speed increased from 1.6 to 1.958). Zelda now jumps higher and moves through the air faster. All of Zelda’s abilities have been reworked, especially the Phantom Slash.
Zelda’s Normal Attacks are now a great deal faster and can be compared to many other characters in the game.
How to Unlock
You can unlock Zelda in the Sacred Realm of the World of Dark after defeating the Spirit of Impa and solving a puzzle. Unlocking Zelda is also necessary to find Master Sword in the World of Light game mode.
