Super Smash Bros Ultimate Snake Guide – Moves List, How to Play, Outfits

Since almost every single character that has been a part of the Smash Bros. series is making a return in Ultimate, it is no surprise that Snake also makes a return. There have been a few changes that will take time to get used to and our Super Smash Bros Ultimate Snake Guide will guide you through them as well as mention the move sets, alternate costumes, and the final smash.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Snake

Snake was last a part of Super Smash Bros Brawl. Since then, there have been quite a few changes and Snake tends to be on the side of characters that went through more changes than others. We will be looking at those changes and how they impact the new Snake.

Changes

Snake has had quite a few changes. Apart from the animations which have been overhauled (victory pose, hand grenades, and jumpsquat have new animations), your Forward tilt and Up tilt both deal more damage than they used to.

There is also a brand new Final Smash along with a New down smash.

As for your hand grenade, they are now larger than they were. This is not the only change in the explosives department, as your C4 is also stickier. Lastly, Snake has some new dialogue options in the game.

How to Unlock Snake

All of the characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate unlock through the same mechanic.

You can either play the World of Light single-player mode, go through the Classic Mode with your character, or take part and win the ‘Challenger Approaches’ fights.

There is a way to have the Challenger fights appear again and again. To do that, take part in the challenger fight and quit the game. When the game restarts, set up a custom ruleset match that has a time limit of 1 minute.

Once the match is over, you will have a brand new challenge waiting for you. Simply repeat this process until you unlock Snake.

Final Smash

Snake has a brand new Final Smash. It is called Covering Fire, and has Snake calling in an airstrike. You will be able to mark 5 different players and launch homing missiles at them.

This will be a great way to finish off enemies who are cowering away and trying to avoid you.

Alternate Costumes

There are quite a few costumes that you can adorn when playing as Snake. They are based on the camo used in the Metal Gear series and have Red, Black, Blue, Grey, Green, and Animal Print versions.

Do note that our SSBU Snake Guide is currently work-in-progress. We will continue to share more information in the coming days.
