Ike is a returning character in the new Smash Bros game. However, there have been a lot of balancing changes to almost all of the characters in the new game, including Ike. In our Super Smash Bros Ultimate Ike Guide, we talk about what changes have been brought on board for Ike including his moves, combos, playing as Ike, and countering him.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate Ike
Ike has not been a part of the Smash Bros. series since SSB4. For this reason, many of the newer players of the series might not even know how to use Ike.
Even the returning fighters will find that the character has had many changes, both cosmetic as well as mechanical. Going through this guide is the best way to learning how to account for all of these changes when using Ike.
The changes that you immediately notice are the cosmetic ones. From the beginning, you see that many of the animations are now different (including when Ike is idle).
On top of that, using Eruption not only brings with it a brand new animation, but there are spiraling flames which you that arise whenever you charge the move.
Apart from this, you get many buffs that are sure to excite Ike players. Not only is your Final Smash faster, but you can also dash faster and deal more damage when you use Down Smash.
On top of that, your Quick Draw now takes less time to get to the maximum charge, and your landing is much smoother whenever you use an aerial attack.
For your final smash, the main move (Great Aether) is still the same, but there have been minor changes to it. For one thing, it has brand new visual effects, and is much more effective than it was in Super Smash Bros. 4.
You also have access to many new costumes. There are costumes from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and numerous color variations that can be used.
You have access to Green, Blue, Red, Purple, Orange, and Brown variants of the outfit that he is wearing by default. Of course, the Radiant Dawn outfit will be used more than anything else due to how awesome it is!
Please note that our SSBU Ike Character Guide remains a work-in-progress. We will continue to add more content in the coming days.
