Death Stranding Is “Too Far” From Its Release Date: Conan O’Brien

Death Stranding release date is still too far away, according to The Tonight Show host Conan O'Brienn. He revealed the news after his visit to Kojima Productions.

Death Stranding is going to appear at The Game Awards 2018 and while we all hoped to see a release date alongside it, it looks like it won’t happen. The Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien recently visited Hideo Kojima’s studio in Japan. There were rumors that there is more to this visit than they led to believe which is, in fact, true.

During a Q&A session in one of his recent shows, Brien was asked about his visit to Kojima Productions. According to Brien, his visit was more meaningful than we thought and they did shoot some stuff at Kojima Productions. However, the project is “top-secret” and no one is allowed to talk about it. He added that the reason for this is that the game is “too far from its release.

Hence, whatever Conan and his team did at Kojima Productions won’t come to light any time soon. When asked about what became of his visit to Kojima Productions, Brien said.

They are working on a very top secret video game, it’s called Death Stranding. And no one is allowed to know anything about it. I mean they have released a few clips here and there but it’s top secret and we shot there and it’s another world. But we can’t show anything yet because it’s too far from when the game is coming out. It’s one of those things that is just out there, we have launched it, and it’s going to zip-in at the right time. Everyone is going to freak out!

While this is exciting and adds to the hype, it is also a little disappointing to know that Death Stranding release date may still be too far away. At this point, it won’t be far-fetched to say Death Stranding may actually be a PS5 launch title. While it may still get a release on PS4, the primary target could be PS5.

If we go by this than Death Stranding should release sometime in 2020. Sony skipped E3 2019 which sparked speculations that PSX 2019 may feature a PS5 announcement with a Fall 2020 release date.

The Game Awards 2018 is scheduled for December 6 where we are expected to see major titles including Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk 2077, Dying Light 2, and believe or not, Avengers 4 trailer. Yes, Ruso Brothers will be at The Game Awards 2018 to present. An Avengers 4 trailer would steal the show.
